I Tested The Best Rebounders (So You Don't Have To)
Are you on the hunt for the perfect rebounder? With so many options available, it can be overwhelming to find one that best fits your needs. In this article, we'll dive deep into comparing three top-rated rebounders Bellicon, BCAN and Leaps and Rebounds so you can find the one that's right for you.
Rebounding isn’t just fun—it’s a fantastic low-impact workout with countless health benefits, from improved lymphatic drainage to better balance and joint strength. Whether you're new to rebounding or a seasoned enthusiast, finding the right rebounder can make all the difference in your experience. But with so many choices, how do you know which rebounder is the right fit? That’s where we come in. In this article, I'll be evaluating and comparing the BCAN 48-inch, Leaps and Bounds 48-inch, and the Bellicon 44-inch, to help you make an informed decision. Ease of Setup
When you're excited to start bouncing, the last thing you want is a rebounder that's tough to assemble. Here's how these models stack up:
BCAN: The BCAN is the easiest to set up. It arrives partially pre-bungeed, and all you need to do is screw the legs on and attach the remaining bungees. Quick and painless!
Leaps and Rebounds: The Leaps and Rebounds requires a little bit more effort. You have to attach all the bungees and connect the frame. It’s still manageable but requires more time compared to the BCAN.
Bellicon: The Bellicon was the hardest to set up for me. I had to bungee everything from scratch and assemble the frame, and encountered some tricky screws that didn't align perfectly. It was a mini-workout setting it up but it is worth mentioning that they do have a preassembled option.
Build Quality
The build quality of your rebounder is important for the feel of the bounce, as well as determining how long it lasts and how stable it feels during use.
BCAN: Unfortunately, the BCAN’s build is the weakest and lightest of the three. The frame feels slightly wobbly, and the bungees appear to be of lower quality, with some wrapped with electrical tape. You’ll also need to tighten the legs regularly as they tend to loosen over time.
Leaps and Rebounds: This model is a noticeable step up in build quality from the BCAN. The bungees feel sturdier, and the frame is more solid. It also has a fabric covering to protect you from stepping on the bungees.
Bellicon: The Bellicon reigns supreme in build quality. Manufactured in Germany and Switzerland, this rebounder is crafted with decades of innovation. The bungee technology is patented, with special polymer molecules in their bungees that allows them to stretch three times their normal length, and a frame that feels like it could last a lifetime. It’s clearly in a league of its own.
Noise Levels: Which One is Quietest?
If you’re in an apartment or have others around and don't want to disrupt others, noise can be a big factor in your decision. So lets talk about it (or whisper).
BCAN: The BCAN is the noisiest of the bunch. The legs wobble more and squeak a little, making it less than ideal if you need something quiet.
Leaps and Rebounds: The Leaps and Rebounds is probably as noisy as the BCAN and has a fabric rubbing noise every time you bounce.
Bellicon: The Bellicon is virtually silent. With no squeaking and a low, soft bounce sound, it’s perfect for anyone looking for a noise-free rebounding experience.
Bounce Performance: Soft or Stiff?
The main reason you're buying a rebounder is the bounce, right? Here’s how each one feels:
BCAN: The bounce is decent, softer than traditional metal spring rebounders, but still feels tight. The frame does move slightly with each bounce, which might be uncomfortable for your joints over time.
Leaps and Rebounds: This model offers a softer bounce compared to the BCAN, and it feels more stable. Everyone has different bounce preferences but most people will enjoy a better experience with this one and less impact on your joints.
Bellicon: The Bellicon provides a completely different experience. Its bounce is so soft and smooth that it feels like it’s catching you. The bungee system has a 200kg (440lb weight limit) and allows for more elasticity, making it the most comfortable by far. To see my friend's thoughts, watch my full comprehensive video here.
Design and Customization Options
Everyone loves options, and rebounders are no different when it comes to aesthetics and functionality.
BCAN: The BCAN design is basic and straightforward. There are a couple of different sizes and minimal color options. It does also have a foldable design for easier storage but when I tried it, this was quite hard to do.
Leaps and Rebounds: With the Leaps and Rebounds, you can choose a 40 or 48-inch design and can choose from several different bungee colors to customize the overall look of your rebounder. It also comes with free online workout modules.
Bellicon: The Bellicon offers the most customization, from bungee strength to tons of bungee color options. They have loads of additional accessories you can buy, a foldable legs option for portability, and a paid membership community for workouts.
Price and Warranty Overview
Price is a big factor when choosing a rebounder and with higher quality comes a larger price range. Let’s see where these models land:
BCAN: Priced at $130 with a one-year warranty, it's the budget-friendly option.
Leaps and Rebounds: This rebounder costs around $260 and comes with a lifetime warranty, offering more peace of mind for the extra cost.
Bellicon: Starting at $599, the Bellicon can go up to $1,200 if you get all the bells and whistles, have it come premade and get the biggest size. It includes a lifetime warranty on the frame and a three-year warranty on the mat.
Which Rebounder is Best for You?
Your ideal rebounder depends on your priorities. If you’re just getting into rebounding and want an affordable option, the BCAN is a great starter. For those who want a higher-quality experience but aren't ready to splurge, theLeaps and Rebounds provides a solid middle ground. And finally, if you’re committed to rebounding and want the absolute best, the Bellicon is well worth the investment. Whichever one you choose, rebounding can be a fantastic addition to your fitness routine.
