Welcome to my 6-month follow-up on the Apollo Neuro, a wearable stress relief device. In this post, I'll discuss my experience's using it over the last 6 months and its applications for stress relief, recovery enhancement, and sleep improvement. For more information about the product itself and how it works, read the blog post here.

Stress Relief

There are two main types of stress, chronic (a long-term form of stress) and acute (a short-term form of stress). If you are suffering from chronic stress, I would advise you to please go and seek medical intervention, as there is likely a much deeper issue that your body is trying to signal.

For actue stress, however, I believe that the Apollo Neuro has a lot of value and can be used as a powerful day-to-day tool, especially for people who would like to relax and wind down after a particularly stressful day.

Recovery Enhancement

For those seeking to optimize recovery, the Apollo Neuro has promising potential. Through increasing heart rate variability (HRV), the device aids the body's ability to bounce back after workouts or stressful events. I noticed a 5-10 millisecond increase in my HRV when using the device and was amazed that I was able to enhance my recovery passively while doing other things.

There are ofcourse many other endogenous and natural ways to improve your HRV such as Buteyko, resonance breathing, or biofeedback. For those interested, feel free to watch the video here for more information.

Sleep Improvement

Struggling with sleep? You're not alone. From my experience, the Apollo Neuro can help you wind down and prepare for a restful night. By inducing relaxation, it can ease the transition into sleep, making it a valuable tool for improving sleep quality.

I would definitely recommend the Apollo Neuro for people having trouble falling asleep, as I found it great at aiding relaxation and helping prepare me for sleep. Again, however, the device is not a long-term solution, and I would recommend people use it as a supplementary device while they're working on resetting circadian rhythms, developing healthy sleep habits, and creating a balanced bedtime routine. For more information on how best to optimize your sleep, watch the video here.

Conclusion

In summary, the Apollo Neuro is a powerful tool for stress management, recovery enhancement, and sleep improvement. While it's not a substitute for foundational health practices and shouldn't be relied upon, I believe it can definitely complement your wellness routine and provide short-term relief.
